Dean Jennifer George brings you up-to-date with developments at MBS
|

My thoughts, and those of the Melbourne Business School community are with our neighbours in New Zealand  and the students, staff and families of MBS affected by the recent tragic earthquake. I’m from Christchurch myself and had some anxious hours this week until my family were able to get through on the phone lines to let me know that they were safe.

There are many ways in which the Melbourne Business School is linked to New Zealand: through students and alumni, staff and faculty, executive education clients and many colleagues and friends. We have more than 500 alumni in New Zealand with 22 of those located in Christchurch. We extend our sympathy and thoughts to them. I have written to my counterpart at the University of Canterbury and offered our help to their faculty and students. If there is any way that we can help you, our alumni, during this tragic time, I would only be too glad to hear from you and assist in any way we can.

The question is why? Is it just greed or is it often a case of ordinary people who might prefer to be good, doing bad things? Bob Wood says that ethical training needs some rethinking in the context of leadership. Read more
