Parentonomics: An economist dad's parenting experiences Melbourne Business School Professor Joshua Gans wonders what it would be like to apply key economic principles to raising his own three children. Can incentives and rewards prompt them to do things like sleep through the night, eat healthy meals, clean up their rooms, do their homework? Can economics help the smart, caring, well-adjusted, high-achieving little person that we know is in there to emerge? The theories and the results - some instant successes, some dismal failures - are revealed in his new book, Parentonomics, and you are invited to celebrate it's release on Sunday August 31 at 12.00pm at ACMI, Federation Square as part of the Melbourne Writers' Festival.

The win complements the men's pairs gold Ginn won in Athens with former rowing partner James Tomkins and the gold he won in Atlanta in 1996 as a member of the ‘Oarsome Foursome'.
