MBS in Talks with the University

The Melbourne Business School Board of Directors is currently in discussions with the University of Melbourne to explore the possibility of a deeper level of integration of MBS and the University. The aim of these discussions is to build on the strengths of both MBS and the Faculty of Economics and Commerce, and potentially achieve new synergies. Full story

Record Gift Will Fight Disadvantage
|

|
An extraordinary class gift of $500,000 was announced at the Annual Alumni Dinner. Taking everyone by surprise, the EMBA Class of 2003 raised the final $85,000 at the pre-dinner drinks to complete their class gift in celebration of their 5th year anniversary. Success for MBA Graduates
|
|
|
|
More than 96% of the 2008 MBA graduates were employed or received job offers within 3 months of graduating. Up to 70% signed on before their final exams. Information was collected from 80.3% of the 112 students who graduated in May 2008 as part of the school's commitment to tracking the development of alumni. Full story

Joshua Gans ~ The delicate balance on parental leave
|
|
|
|
A combination of policies – parental leave, loans and tax credits – is necessary to deal with possible conflicting market failures in relation to decisions to take parental leave. This would allow for social insurance, provide parental leave that promotes child development and help to improve gender equality in the workplace. Full story
